Bega Roosters
The Bega Roosters are an Australian rugby league football team based in Bega, a coastal town of the Far South Coast region of New South Wales. The club was formed in 1960 as the result of the almagation of the Bega Rovers and the Bega West football clubs who were also both members of Group 16 Rugby League. History After forming in 1960 from the Bega Rovers-Bega West merger, the club's first premiership came in their seventh season when Jim Gibson's men defeated Moruya 9–7 in the 1966 Grand Final. The side then took back-to-back premierships in 1971 and 1972. The best years of the club came in the late 1980s when the side won five grand finals in six years including four straight from 1985 to 1988. Deon Apps (born 12 October 1987) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. Country Rugby League
The Country Rugby League of New South Wales (CRL), formed in 1934 and disbanded in 2019, was the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in areas of New South Wales outside the Sydney metropolitan area until it merged with NSW Rugby League in 2019. The CRL was superseded by 6 NSWRL Country Divisions represented by 4 members of the nine-person NSWRL board. Despite its name, the CRL also governed rugby league in the Australian Capital Territory. Apart from selecting a Country Origin side to play in the annual City vs Country Origin game, the CRL administered many senior and junior competitions across the state. St George Illawarra Dragons
The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George, Sydney, St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since NRL season 1999, 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). They officially formed as the game's first joint-venture club on 23 September 1998 and it remains the only inter-city team in the NRL. Kezie Apps (born 4 February 1991) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays as a for the St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL Women's Premiership and the Wests Tigers in the NSWRL Women's Premiership. Melbourne Storm
The Melbourne Storm are a rugby league club based in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia that participates in the National Rugby League. The first fully professional rugby league team based in the state, the Storm entered the competition in 1998. The Storm were originally a Super League initiative, created in 1997 during the Super League war, however, following the Super League collapse, the team became a part of the newly formed, united competition. The club play their home games at AAMI Park. The Storm have won four premierships since their inception, in 1999, 2012, 2017 and 2020, and have contested several more grand finals, but were stripped of the 2007 and 2009 premierships following salary cap breaches. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. They compete in the NRL Telstra Premiership, as well as competitions facilitated by the New South Wales Rugby League, including the Canterbury Cup NSW, the Jersey Flegg Cup, Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup, S. Dale Finucane (born 7 September 1991), is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL. Finucane previously played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League. He won the 2017 and 2020 NRL Grand Finals with the Storm. The St. George Dragons is an Australian rugby league football club from St George District in Sydney, New South Wales that played in the top level New South Wales competition and Australian Rugby League competitions from the 1921 until the 1997 ARL season, as well as the unified 1998 National Rugby League season. Bega, New South Wales
Bega () is a town in the south-east of New South Wales, Australia, in the Bega Valley Shire. It is the economic centre for the Bega Valley. Place name One claim is that place name ''Bega'' is derived from the local Aboriginal word meaning "big camping ground".
