Helen Beebee was formerly the Samuel Hall Professor of Philosophy at the University of Manchester. She is now a professor at the University of Leeds. Beebee's work has been influential across a wide variety of fields, including causation, free will, and natural kinds. Eric Schliesser, writing on NewApps, described Beebee as 'one of the most prominent metaphysicists of our time.' Beebee has a significant interest in the problem of underrepresentation of women in the field of philosophy, and has spoken about the problems that face women philosophers in a modern academic context, such as in her paper "Women and Deviance in Philosophy". Henry Beebee Carrington
Henry Beebee Carrington (March 2, 1824 – October 26, 1912) was a lawyer, professor, prolific author, and an officer in the United States Army during the American Civil War and in the Old West during Red Cloud's War. A noted engineer, he constructed a series of forts to protect the Bozeman Trail, but suffered a major defeat at the hands of the warchief Red Cloud. Early life Carrington was born in Wallingford, Connecticut. An ardent abolitionist in his youth, he was graduated from Yale University in 1845. He was professor of natural science and Greek at the ''Irving Institute'' in Tarrytown, New York from 1846 to 1847. Under the influence of the school's founder, Washington Irving, he subsequently wrote ''Battles of the American Revolution'', which appeared in 1876. In 1847 he studied at Yale Law School while teaching school briefly at a women's institute. He is known for championing bands for their genuine entertainment qualities as opposed to their tendency to fit in with present fashions and fads. The work premiered Off-Broadway at the Sheridan Square Playhouse on September 17, 1962, closing on June 9, 1963 after 304 performances. The production was directed by Ulu Grosbard and used set and lighting designs by Robin Wagner. The production starred Rose Gregorio as Beebee, Ann Wedgeworth as Nettie-Jo Repult, Mary Farrell as Melinda, Kate Harrington as Virginia, Virgilia Chew as Betty, Monroe Arnold as Interviewer, Stanley Beck as Ed Busby, and Robert Duvall as Bob Smith. BB-8 (or Beebee-Ate) is a droid character in the ''Star Wars'' franchise. He appeared in the three films of the sequel trilogy, '' Star Wars: The Force Awakens'' (2015), '' Star Wars: The Last Jedi'' (2017), and '' Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'' (2019). He also appeared as a major supporting character in the animated series '' Star Wars Resistance'', appearing in the first 17 episodes of season 1. BB Airways was a Nepalese airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was established and started operations in September 2012. The airline's hub was Tribhuvan International Airport, from where it flew to three international destinations. The airline made its first flight on 13 October 2012 to Kuala Lumpur. The Japanese investment company TBI Group supported the airline, which was managed and promoted by the Non Resident Nepali Association. Bee Bee Bee (foaled 1969 in Maryland) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1972 Preakness Stakes. To date Bee Bee Bee is one of only eight Maryland-bred colts to win the Preakness, and one of only eleven from the state to win a triple crown race.
