Alan Beddoe
Lieutenant-Commander Alan Brookman Beddoe, OC, OBE, HFHS, FHSC (June 1, 1893 – December 2, 1975) was a Canadian artist, war artist, consultant in heraldry and founder and first president of the Heraldry Society of Canada in 1965. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1893, he studied at Ashbury College. During World War I, he was captured at Second Battle of Ypres in 1915 and spent two and a half years in the prisoner of war camps at Gießen and Zerbst. He studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After the war, he studied at the Art Students League of New York under DuMond and Bridgman. In 1925, he opened the first commercial art studio in Ottawa. He was also an expert in heraldry. The Alan Beddoe collection at Library and Archives Canada contains designs and studies for the Book of Remembrance, postage stamps, posters, crests, money, architecture, coats-of-arms, and a new Canadian flag. David Sydney Rowe-Beddoe, Baron Rowe-Beddoe, (19 December 1937 – 15 November 2023), was a Welsh businessman and life peer who was a crossbench member of the House of Lords. Lord Rowe-Beddoe was chairman of the Welsh Development Agency, and was chairman of Cardiff Airport until November 2016. Early life David Sidney Rowe Beddoe was born on 19 December 1937, as the son of Sydney Rowe Beddoe a travelling salesman and Gwendolan Evans a singing teacher. Rowe-Beddoe's early education was at The Cathedral School, Llandaff, Cardiff, where he won the Victor Ludorum in 1951. He attended Stowe School at Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, and St John's College, Cambridge. In 1964, Rowe-Beddoe married Malinda Collison, and the union produced three daughters. The couple were divorced in 1982. He remarried in 1984, to Madeleine Harrison. Martin Beddoe
Martin William Denton Beddoe (born 7 July 1955) is a British Circuit judge (England and Wales), judge known for having presided over many high-profile criminal cases. He is a former Crown Court Recorder, member of the Parole Board of England and Wales and a tutor judge of the Judicial College. In March 2013, he was one of the judges appointed to hear an inquest into the death of Bethlem Royal Hospital#Fatal restraint on Olaseni Lewis, Olaseni Lewis.
