Rebecca N. Farmer Evans (born July 26, 1961) is a Georgia state representative from Atlanta, Georgia. A member of the Democratic Party, she defeated Democratic Party incumbent Howard Mosby, in November 2018. She now represents the 89th district, following changes to district numbers after redistricting. Early life and career Evans was born in Dallas, Texas. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Emory University. Evans lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband David. Bee Nguyen (born July 18, 1981) is an American nonprofit executive and politician who served as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from the 89th District from 2017 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she was elected during a special election in December 2017 to fill the seat vacated following Stacey Abrams's resignation in August 2017 to focus on her run for governor. Howard Mosby (born June 20, 1961) is an American politician from Georgia. Mosby is a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives for District 90. Early life and education Mosby was born in Atlanta to Gwendolyn Mizell Mosby, a retired Burgess-Peterson Elementary School (Atlanta) teacher. Mosby's father is Nathaniel "Nate" Mosby, who served as the second African American to the DeKalb County Commission. Nate Mosby was also chairman of the DeKalb Community Relations Commission, and served as the DeKalb community representative on the Atlanta Regional Commission.
