Beant Singh (assassin)
Beant Singh (6 January 195931 October 1984) was one of the two bodyguards who Assassination of Indira Gandhi, assassinated the Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, at her New Delhi residence on 31 October 1984. Early life and family Beant Singh was born in a Ramdasia Sikh to Baba Sucha Singh and Kartar Kaur. Singh's widow Bimal Kaur Khalsa initially joined the Sikh militant group, and then got imprisoned. Later she was elected from Ropar (Lok Sabha constituency), Ropar Constituency. His father, Baba Sucha Singh, was also an elected member of the Lok Sabha from Bathinda (Lok Sabha constituency). Jaitu, East Punjab
Jaitu (sometimes written as Jaito, also known as Gangsar Jaitu) is a historical city. Jaitu is a municipal council in Faridkot district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Punjab (India), Punjab. It is subdivision in Ferozepur Division. Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 13 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Punjab state in northern India. In 18th Lokh Sabha, it is represented by Harsimart Kaur Badal. Golden Temple
The Golden Temple is a gurdwara located in Amritsar, Punjab, India. It is the pre-eminent spiritual site of Sikhism. Bhoga () is a Sanskrit term meaning "enjoyment; pleasure; experience". Etymologically, bhoga is derived from the root ''bhuj-'', meaning to "enjoy", "consume", or "relish". Kehar Singh
Kehar Singh (Punjabi: ਕੇਹਰ ਸਿੰਘ, Kehar Singh) was an Assistant (the name of the post later termed as Assistant Section Officer) in the erstwhile Directorate General of Supply and Disposal, New Delhi, and was tried and executed for conspiracy in the plot of the Indira Gandhi assassination, carried out by Satwant Singh and Beant Singh. He was hanged in Tihar Jail on 6 January 1989. Beant Singh was the nephew of Kehar Singh. The assassination was motivated by Operation Blue Star. Beant Singh drew a .38 revolver and fired three shots into Indira Gandhi's abdomen; as she fell to the ground, Satwant Singh fired all 30 rounds from his Sten submachine gun into her abdomen (thus, 33 bullets were fired in total, of which 30 bullets hit her).
