Bill Beaney
Bill Beaney Jr. (born July 21, 1951) is a retired college men's ice hockey coach. He has coached hockey teams in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, and was the head coach at Middlebury College, Middlebury from 1986 until 2015. He led the Middlebury hockey team to eight NCAA Division III, Division III championships from 1995 to 2006 and ranks 13th all-time among college men's ice hockey coaches with 601 wins (as of 2021). Athlete Beaney grew up playing hockey in the youth leagues of Lake Placid, New York, where he was coached by his father, Bill Beaney Sr. Beaney became a star athlete at Lake Placid high school. He was recruited by more than 30 colleges and enrolled at the University of New Hampshire ("UNH"). He played four years of varsity hockey at UNH and was the captain of the 1973 team. James Beaney
James George Beaney (15 January 1828 in Canterbury – 30 June 1891 in Melbourne) was an English-born Australian surgeon, politician and philanthropist in Australia, and member of the Victorian Legislative Council from March 1883 until his death. Early life James Beaney was born in Canterbury, Kent, England, where he was educated, and studied surgery with W. J. Cooper. He was afterwards a student at the University of Edinburgh, at Paris, and at Guy's Hospital, London. He qualified as a surgeon in Edinburgh and travelled to Australia before being gazetted assistant surgeon to the 3rd Regiment (the Scots Guards). He served at Gibraltar and later as staff surgeon to the Turkish contingent in the Crimean War. After the campaign he made several trips to America. Alan Beaney
Alan Beaney (3 March 1905 – 3 March 1985) was a British Labour Party politician. Born in New Silksworth in County Durham, Beaney received an elementary education before becoming a coal miner in Yorkshire. He joined the Labour Party, and served on Dearne Urban District Council from 1938 to 1952, and then the West Riding of Yorkshire County Council from 1949 to 1952, and again from 1958 to 1959. The Yorkshire Miners' Association funded his study with the National Council of Labour Colleges, and he later served on its executive committee. Captain Beany
Captain Beany (born Barry Kirk on 23 September 1954) is a British eccentric and charity fundraiser in Sandfields, Port Talbot, South Wales. Biography Kirk worked in the computer department of the BP chemical plant in Baglan, Neath Port Talbot. In May 1991, he changed his name by deed poll to Captain Beany. He began painting his face and bald head orange, donned a golden cape, pants, gloves and boots. To date, Captain Beany claims to have raised over £100,000 for charity through participation in various events, such as the London and New York Marathons. In 1986, Beany set a world record for the longest time sitting in a bath full of baked beans, which lasted over 100 hours.
