Beach volleyball at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Australia from 6 to 12 April. The beach volleyball competition was held at Coolangatta Beachfront. This was the first time that Beach Volleyball was held at the Commonwealth Games with last being the Volleyball at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 Sydney Olympics, Volleyball at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Athens Olympics, Volleyball at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympics, Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics. Ben O'Dea (born 6 May 1992) is a New Zealand beach volleyball player. Ben and his brother Sam O'Dea represented New Zealand at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where they won the bronze medal in the men's pair competition. FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings
The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in beach volleyball. The teams of the member nations of the FIVB, beach volleyball and volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their competition results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. The ranking is based on the 8 best results over the last 365 days. They are updated every Monday after an FIVB recognized event. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula. Taliqua Clancy (born 25 June 1992) is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player who represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball, partnered with Louise Bawden. She is the first Indigenous Australian volleyball player to represent Australia at the Olympics. Clancy plays as a left-side blocker. Mariafe Artacho del Solar (born 24 October 1993) is an Australian beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2021. Artacho del Solar plays as a right-side defender.
