Beatrice "Bea" Angela Duran is an American politician and trade union, union grievance (labour), grievance specialist from Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada, currently serving as a member of the Nevada Assembly. Early life Duran was born in 1963 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Career In 1986, Duran, then a waitress at the Four Queens, Four Queens Hotel and Casino, became active in the Culinary Workers Union, the Las Vegas-based local union, Local 226 of UNITE HERE, and was on staff as the union achieved NLRB election procedures, recognition there. Since 1999 she has worked as a staff member for the Culinary Union, where she was a grievance specialist with their Culinary Grievance Department. Olivia Diaz (born 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada), is an American elementary school teacher and politician who served as a Democratic member of the Nevada Assembly from 2011 until 2018 representing District 11. Diaz is a member of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. Education Diaz earned her BA in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her MS in bilingual education from Nova Southeastern University. The National Labor Relations Board, an agency within the United States government, was created in 1935 as part of the National Labor Relations Act. Among the NLRB's chief responsibilities is the holding of elections to permit employees to vote whether they wish to be represented by a particular labor union.
