The Bavarian Police () is the state police force of the German state of Bavaria under the umbrella of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior. It has approximately 33,500 armed officers and roughly 8,500 other civilian employees. Bavarian Ministry Of The Interior
The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration () is the interior ministry of Bavaria. It is headquartered in Munich, and was established on November 21, 1806 as the ''Departement des Innern''. The first Minister of the Interior was Count Maximilian von Montgelas (until 1817). Since October 16, 2007, Joachim Herrmann (CSU) has been Minister of the Interior. On September 1st, 2024, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior uploaded a video on their official X (formerly twitter) account which contained a number of seemingly Islamophobic tropes and imagery. Straubing
Straubing (; Central Bavarian: ''Strauwing'') is an independent city in Lower Bavaria, southern Germany. It is seat of the Districts of Germany, district of Straubing-Bogen. Annually in August the Gäubodenvolksfest, the second largest fair in Bavaria, is held. The city is located on the Danube forming the centre of the Gäuboden. Bavarian Border Police
The Bavarian Border Police ( or ''GrePo'') is a police division within the Bavarian State Police (''Polizei Bayern''). It is the third arm of the police force alongside the state police and the riot police (''Bereitschaftspolizei''). It existed from 1946 (independently from 1952) to 1998 and was responsible for the federal borders in Bavaria. It was re-established as an independent arm in 2018, having no responsibility for border control. The 2015 European migrant crisis was a period of significantly increased movement of refugees and Human migration, migrants into Europe, mostly from the Middle East. An estimated 1.3 million people came to the continent to request Right of asylum, asylum, the most in a single year since World War II. They were mostly Refugees of the Syrian Civil War, Syrians, but also included a significant number of people from Afghan refugees, Afghanistan, Pakistanis, Pakistan, Refugees of Iraq, Iraq, Nigeria, Eritreans, Eritrea, and the Balkan people, Balkans. Upper Bavaria (, ; ) is one of the seven administrative regions of Bavaria, Germany. Kempten (; ) is the largest town of Allgäu, in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. The population was about 68,000 in 2016.
