Baulne-en-Brie (, literally ''Baulne in Brie (region), Brie'') is a former Communes of France, commune in the Departments of France, department of Aisne in northern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Vallées-en-Champagne, of which it is a Communes of France, delegated commune. Geography Baulne-en-Brie is located some 15 km east by south-east of Château-Thierry and 20 km west by south-west of Épernay. It can be accessed by the D4 road from Condé-en-Brie in the west through the heart of the commune and the village and continuing east to Breuil, Marne, Le Breuil. There is also a country road from La Chapelle-Monthodon in the north. The south-eastern border of the commune is part of the border between the departments of Aisne and Marne (department), Marne. Montlhéry () is a commune in the Essonne department in Île-de-France in northern France. It is located from Paris. History Montlhéry lay on the strategically important road from Paris to Orléans. Under the Merovingians, it was owned by the church in Reims and in 768 it was given to the abbey of St. Denis in Paris. It was the site of a number of battles between the lords of Montlhéry and the early Capetian monarchy. The Montlhéry noble house was related to the Montmorency family; Thibaud, the founder of the Montlhéry dynasty, was the brother of Bouchard II, the progenitor of the Montmorency house.
