Battle Isle (video Game)
''Battle Isle'' is a 1991 turn-based strategy video game developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubi Soft for the Amiga and MS-DOS. It is the first game in the ''Battle Isle'' series. Two official expansion packs were released: ''Data Disk I'' in 1992 and ''The Moon of Chromos'' in 1993. An unofficial expansion, ''Battle Field Creator'', was released in 1994. An Atari ST version was advertised but never released. Gameplay The game is played on a hexagonal grid. The goal is to take control of an island by defeating the enemy. This can be achieved by eliminating all enemy units or capturing their headquarters. The gameplay has two phases: movement and action. In the movement phase, units can be moved around. During the action phase, you can attack other units, storm buildings, and defend your own units. The game includes 32 scenarios and a two-player mode. Ubisoft Blue Byte GmbH (Blue Byte until 2017) is a German video game holding company owned by Ubisoft. It was founded in October 1988 by Thomas Hertzler and Lothar Schmitt as a developer and ís best known for developing the '' Anno'' and ''The Settlers'' series. The studio was acquired by Ubisoft in 2001. Related Designs was merged into Blue Byte in 2013, and a third studio in Berlin was established in 2018. ''Amiga Format'' was a British monthly computer magazine for Amiga computers, published by Future Publishing. The magazine lasted 136 issues from 1989 to 2000. The magazine was formed when Future split '' ST/Amiga Format'' into two separate publications (the other being '' ST Format''). The magazine's coverage extended to hardware, software, as well as video games. It is known to have provided each issue with a cover disk containing an assortment of demos and usually free-of-charge software and games, popularising the concept among its rival magazines. At its peak, in the first half of 1992, the magazine's circulation averaged 161,256 copies per issue. Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light.
