''Batman Animated'' is a coffee table book written by Paul Dini and designed by Chip Kidd, about the popular TV show '' Batman: The Animated Series''. It was first published in a hardcover edition in 1998 by Titan Books. A paperback edition of the book was published later. Overview A very picture-heavy book, ''Batman Animated'' features numerous sketches, storyboards, character designs, finished paintings and other material from the popular animated series about Batman, the iconic superhero character in the comic books published by DC Comics. The book details Batman's development from series producer and co-creator Bruce Timm's early sketches to his eventual finished look in the series, as well as the newer designs Timm made for the follow-up series ''The New Batman Adventures''. Paul Dini
Paul McClaran Dini (; born August 7, 1957) is an American writer, animator, and comic book artist. He has served as a producer and writer for several Warner Bros. Animation/DC Comics animated series, most notably ''Batman: The Animated Series'' (1992–1995), and the subsequent DC Animated Universe. Dini and Bruce Timm co-created the characters Harley Quinn and Batman (Terry McGinnis), Terry McGinnis. Dini began writing on ''He-Man and the Masters of the Universe'' for Filmation (1983-1984) Then later for Warner Bros. Animation on ''Tiny Toon Adventures''. In addition to ''Batman: The Animated Series'', Dini was a writer for ''Superman: The Animated Series'' (1996–2000), writer and co-creator for ''The New Batman Adventures'' (1997–1999), and writer and developer for ''Batman Beyond'' (1999–2001). Two-Face
Two-Face is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Bob Kane, and first appeared in ''Detective Comics'' #66 (August 1942). He has become one of the superhero Batman's most enduring enemies belonging to the collective of adversaries that make up his List of Batman family enemies#Classic rogues gallery, rogues gallery. In his comic book appearances, Two-Face is the alter ego of Harvey Dent, Gotham City's former district attorney who becomes a criminal mastermind obsessed with Mind–body dualism, duality and the number two. Half of his face is hideously scarred after mob boss Sal Maroni throws acid at him. The resulting disfigurement drives him insane and causes him to make decisions based on the Coin flipping, flip of a coin.
