Bathsheba Grossman
Bathsheba Grossman (born 1966) is an American artist who creates sculptures using computer-aided design and three-dimensional modeling, with metal printing technology to produce sculpture in bronze and stainless steel. Her bronze sculptures are primarily mathematical in nature, often depicting intricate patterns or mathematical oddities (for instancea figure with only one side but three edges. Her website also has crystals that have been laser etched with three-dimensional patterns, including models of nearby stars, the DNA macromolecule, and the Milky Way Galaxy. Grossman's works have featured in art galleries around the world, as well as ''The New York Times'', and the television series ''Numb3rs'' and '' Heroes''. Maker Faire is a convention of do it yourself aka-DIY enthusiasts started by ''Make'' magazine in 2006. Participants come from a wide variety of interests, such as robotics, 3D printing, computers, arts and crafts, and hacker culture. VanDusen Botanical Garden
VanDusen Botanical Garden is a botanical garden situated in Vancouver, British Columbia, in its Shaughnessy neighborhood. It is located at the northwest corner of 37th Avenue and Oak Street. It is named for local lumberman and philanthropist Whitford Julian VanDusen. History In 1970, the Vancouver Foundation, the British Columbia provincial government, and the city of Vancouver signed an agreement to provide the funding to develop a public garden on part of the old Shaughnessy Golf Course. The Botanical Garden opened to the public on August 30, 1975 and remains jointly managed by the Vancouver Park Board and the Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association (VBGA), similar to the operation of nearby Bloedel Conservatory. Judith Grossman
Judith Grossman is an American writer. She earned a scholarship to Somerville College, Oxford, from which she received a First Class degree in English in 1958. She received a Ph.D. from Brandeis University, in 1968. She has taught at Bennington College. She also taught in the Creative Writing MFA programs at University of California, Irvine from 1992 to 1995 and the University of Iowa (1997). She was chairman of the liberal arts division at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts. She was raised Anglican. She was married to the poet Allen Grossman until his death in 2014. Allen R. Grossman (January 7, 1932 – June 27, 2014) was a noted American poet, critic and professor.
