Lars Hansen (basketball)
Lars Erik Hansen (born September 27, 1954) is a Danish-Canadian former basketball center in the National Basketball Association for the Seattle SuperSonics. He also was a member of the Cinzano Milano, Eldorado Roma, OAR Ferrol and FC Barcelona Bàsquet in Europe. He played college basketball for the Washington Huskies. Hansen contributed to the Canada men's national basketball team finishing in eighth-place at the 1974 FIBA World Championship, for the first time in twenty years. He participated in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, helping Canada to a fourth-place finish. In 2006, he was inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame. 2019 FIBA World Cup
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the 18th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams, held from 31 August to 15 September 2019. The tournament was hosted in China and was rescheduled from 2018 to 2019, becoming the first since 1967 that did not occur in the same year as the FIFA World Cup (which was held the previous year). The tournament expanded from 24 to 32 teams. Nick Nurse
Nicholas David Nurse (born July 24, 1967) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously served as head coach for the Toronto Raptors, whom he led to an NBA championship in 2019 and with whom he was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2020. Sylvia Sweeney, C.M., (born October 3, 1956) is a Canadian executive television producer and Olympian. Steve Konchalski
Stephen J. "Steve" Konchalski (born April 11, 1945) is an American-Canadian basketball coach who served as head coach of the St. Francis Xavier University men's basketball team from 1975 to 2021. He was the head coach of the Canadian men's national team from 1995 to 1998. Ken Shields (Canadian Basketball)
Kenneth William Daniel Shields (born December 7, 1945) is a former Canadian basketball coach. He is a four-time CIAU coach of the year recipient. When he retired from university coaching, he held the most wins in Canadian university men's basketball history, during which time he won a record 7-straight national championships with the University of Victoria. He is also the former head coach of the Canada men's national team. University Shields began his coaching career in the 1969–1970 season with the UBC women's basketball team while completing his master's degree. This team won the Canadian Senior A women's championship that year. Kathy Shields is a Canadian basketball coach. She coached the University of Victoria women’s basketball team and the 1984 Summer Olympics as an assistant coach. She is married to Ken Shields. Glen Grunwald (born June 13, 1958) is an American attorney and basketball executive who serves as the executive advisor of Canada Basketball and as a senior advisor of the Memphis Grizzlies. He previously served as president and CEO of Canada Basketball and as general manager of the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks of the NBA.
