Basketball At The 1970 Asian Games
Basketball was one of the 13 sports disciplines held in the 1970 Asian Games again in Bangkok, Thailand. South Korea got their first Asian basketball title by outlasting the defending champions Israel in the championship round. The games were held from December 10 to 19, 1970. Indoor Stadium Huamark
Indoor Stadium Huamark (, , ) is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena, located in Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi District, Bang Kapi, Bangkok, Thailand. It is next to Rajamangala National Stadium and is a part of Hua Mak Sports Complex. The original capacity of the arena is 15,000 spectators and it was built in 1966 for the 1966 Asian Games, 5th Asian Games. After renovation for 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup, the capacity is reduced to 6,000 seats and expandable to 8,000 seats. It is used mainly for concerts, badminton, boxing, basketball, futsal, and volleyball. Gabriel "Gabi" Teichner (; born November 21, 1945) is an Israeli former basketball player. He spent his club career playing in the Israeli Premier League, and he also represented the Israeli national team. Club career Teichner, who is 2.03 m (6 ft 8 in) tall, played at the center position. During his club playing career, Teichner played 13 seasons in the Israeli Premier League, with the clubs Hapoel Beit Alfa, Hapoel Nir David, and Hapoel Gvat/Yagur. Haim Starkman (; born in Jaffa, Palestine, July 11, 1944) is an Israeli former basketball player. He played the guard position. He played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, and for the Israeli national basketball team. Biography Starkman is 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall. He played for 12 years in the Israeli Basketball Premier League for Maccabi Ramat Gan and Maccabi Tel Aviv (for whom Starkman was captain). Tanhum Cohen-Mintz (; also "Tanchum or Tani" and "Cohen-Minz"; October 18, 1939 – October 11, 2014) was an Israeli professional basketball player.
