Basic Education High School No. 5 Tamwe (; commonly known as Tamwe 5 High School) is a public high school in Tamwe Township, Yangon, Myanmar. It used to be a Christian school when Burma was a British colony. Even before the school was nationalized, It has been a boys' school since establishment. The high school was formerly known as St. Francis Boys' School, and is located still to this day beside St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Yangon. Yangon Region
Yangon Region (, ; formerly Rangoon Division and Yangon Division) is an administrative region of Myanmar. Located in central Myanmar, the region is bordered by Bago Region to the north and east, the Gulf of Martaban to the south, and Ayeyarwady Region to the west. Tamwe Township
Tamwe Township (also Tarmwe Township; , ) is located in east central Yangon, Myanmar. The township comprises 20 wards, and shares borders with Yankin Township in the north, Thingangyun Township and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the east, Bahan Township in the west, and Mingala Taungnyunt township in the south. Etymology "Tamwe" derives from the Mon language term "Tamoa" (; ), which means "one toddy palm tree." Education The township has 30 primary schools, four middle schools and six high schools.
