Basavaraju V. Shivaganga (born 1981) is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is an MLA from Channagiri Assembly constituency in Davangere district. He won the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election representing Indian National Congress. Early life and education Shivaganga is from Channagiri, Davangere district. His father Veerappa D is a farmer. He completed his B.A. in 2001 at A.R.M. Pre University College, Davanagere. Davanagere district is an administrative district of Karnataka state in India. It is the centre of Karnataka. The city of Davanagere is the district headquarters. It had a population of 1,643,494 of which 32.31% was urban as of 2011. This district was separated from Chitradurga district in 1997 by the then Chief minister of Karnataka J. H. Patel including Chennagiri and Honali Taluks Shimoga district. The district lies in the central plains of the state with its unique features of having an influence of the north and the south of the state. Channagiri is a town in Davanagere district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is a taluk headquarters in Davanagere District from 1997. Before it was the part of Shivamogga District. Dāvanagere is a city in the centre of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is the seventh largest city in the state, and the administrative headquarters of eponymous Davangere district.
