Bas Kosters
Bas Kosters (born June 5, 1977, in Zutphen) is a Dutch fashion designer, known for his colourful designs and the use of prints. In 2003 he graduated from the Fashion Institute in Arnhem with the collection 'Two Teacups and a Frying Pan', with this collection he also won the Robijn Fashion Award. In 2005 he established the Bas Kosters Studio in Amsterdam. In 2009 he won the Dutch Fashion Incubator Award and in 2010 he won the Dutch Fashion International Incubator Award. Biography Bas Kosters was born and raised in the Dutch town Zutphen. He studied fashion at the Rijn IJssel College in Arnhem where he graduated in 1997. Then he studied Fashion Design at the AKI Academy of Fine Arts in Enschede until his graduation in 2001. In 2003 he got his master's degree at the Fashion Institute Arnhem, his graduation collection earned him the Robijn Fashion Award. Zutphen
Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river Ijssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. The Dutch Fashion Awards is an annual awards ceremony first organised by the Dutch Fashion Foundation in 2007. AKI Academy For Art & Design
AKI Academy for Art & Design is an art academy in the city Enschede in the Netherlands. The school was found in 1946 as Academie voor Kunst en Industrie (Academy for Art and Industry), but only retains the acronym 'AKI'. The school is part of the ArtEZ group of schools. History The Academie voor Kunst en Industrie was found in 1946 by a group of textile manufacturers, to educate fabric designers for the local textile industry. Until 1955 Dirk van de Leeuw of the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheidsonderwijs was the director, after which the drawing teacher Bram Middelhoek (1906–1968) took over.
