Barysh () is a town and the administrative center of Baryshsky District in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the river Barysh (Volga's basin), southwest of Ulyanovsk, the administrative center of the oblast. Barys Tasman
Barys Tasman () (13 November 1954 – 25 June 2022), was a Belarusian journalist, sports reporter and sports analyst. Tasman was born in a Jewish family in Minsk. He graduated from the Belarusian State University with a major in geography in 1980. He worked as a loader, worker at a road equipment plant, and assistant at a geodetic laboratory. From 1981 to 1994, he pursued a career as a geography teacher in several Minsk secondary schools. Tasman organized the first Belarusian school-based Museum of astronautics (1987–1994) at the Minsk school № 46. Since childhood, he was interested in sports and "dreamed of sports journalism," but he entered into the profession only after the collapse of the Soviet Union at the age of 40. Barys Kit
Barys Kit (April 6, 1910 – February 1, 2018) was a Belarusian-American rocket scientist. Biography Kit was born on April 6, 1910, in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire to the family of an employee at the Post and Telegraph Department of Belarusian origin. His true surname is Kita. In 1918 Kit's family moved to their native village of Aharodniki, now the town of Karelichy, Grodno Region. In 1921 this area became a part of the Second Polish Republic. After graduation from the Navahrudak Belarusian Lyceum in 1928, Kit entered the physics and mathematics faculty of Vilnius University. After graduation in 1933 he worked as a teacher at the Belarusian Gymnasium of Vilnia in Vilnius. In 1939 he was appointed its Principal. After World War II had begun and the Vilnius Region had been handed over to Lithuania, Kit returned to his native region which had been joined to the Byelorussian SSR. Barys Hrynkevich
Barys Hrynkevich (; born April 26, 1981, in Grodno) is a retired amateur Belarusian freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's super heavyweight category. He finished seventh in the 120-kg division at the 2003 World Wrestling Championships in New York City, New York, United States, and later represented his nation Belarus at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Hrynkevich also trained as a member of the freestyle wrestling team for RTsFVS Hrodna, under his personal coach Aleh Harbuz. Hrynkevich qualified for the Belarusian squad in the men's super heavyweight class (120 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by placing seventh and receiving a berth from the World Championships a year earlier. Barys Rahula
Barys Rahula (, Boris Ragula, 1 January 1920 – 22 April 2005) was a Belarusian political activist. He served as a military commander of the Belorusian Auxiliary Police, Belarusian auxiliary police unit Schutzmannschaft Battalion 68. After the war, he studied medicine in the West and became a doctor in Canada. Life Barys Rahula was born near Navahrudak and spent his early years in West Belarus, then part of the Second Polish Republic. In 1938, he became student at the University of Vilnius but was mobilized into the Polish army after the Nazi-Soviet invasion of Poland. He soon became a German POW, but in 1940 escaped from German prison to West Belarus occupied by the Soviets. In Belarus, he got arrested by the NKVD but managed to escape from prison in the first days after Operation Barbarossa, Germany's attack on the USSR.
