Barry Richard
Barry Richard (born March 28, 1942) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1974 to 1978. Early life and education Richard is a native of Miami Beach. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. Career Richard served in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. From 1974 to 1978, he served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives. He ran for the attorney general of Florida in 1978, but lost the Democratic primary to James C. Smith. In 1998, Richard served as the campaign legal counsel to Jeb Bush and Bill Nelson. He also represented George W. Bush in ''Bush v. Gore''. In 2018, he represented Andrew Gillum during the gubernatorial vote recount. Richard is a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig. Clarence William Nelson II (born September 29, 1942) is an American politician and attorney serving as the administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Nelson previously served as a United States Senator from Florida from 2001 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1972 to 1978 and in the United States House of Representatives from 1979 to 1991. In January 1986, Nelson became the second sitting member of U.S. Congress to fly in space, after Senator Jake Garn, when he served as a payload specialist on mission STS-61-C aboard the Space Shuttle ''Columbia''. Andrew Demetric Gillum (born July 26, 1979) is an American former politician who served as the 126th mayor of Tallahassee from 2014 to 2018. He served as a Tallahassee city commissioner from 2003 until 2014, first elected at the age of 23. He is a member of the Democratic Party. In 2018, Gillum was the nominee of the Florida Democratic Party to be the governor of Florida.
