Barry Rice (soccer)
Barry LaShawn Rice Jr. (born September 23, 1987, in Euclid, Ohio) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Akron Summit Assault in the USL Premier Development League. Club career On March 25, 2010, D.C. United officially announced the signing of Rice after he spent the off-season with the club. His contract option was not picked up by D.C. United at the end of the 2010 MLS season. Euclid is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. Located on the southern shore of Lake Erie, it is an Inner suburb, inner ring suburb of Cleveland. Akron Summit Assault was an American soccer team based in Akron, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2010, they played their only season in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Great Lakes Division of the Central Conference. The team played the majority of its home games in the stadium at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, with selected games being held at Lee Jackson Field on the campus of the University of Akron.
