Barry Murphy (born 19 April 1888) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team. Murphy made his first appearance for the team during the 1914 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen at various times until his retirement after the 1919 championship. During that time he won one Munster medal. Murphy was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Barry Murphy (born 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward for club side Doon and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. Barry Murphy (born 5 October 1985) is an Irish swimmer from Dublin, Ireland. Despite his setting of the 50 m and 100 m freestyle national records in 2008, Murphy just missed qualifying for Ireland's team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Barry Alan Murphy (born 13 May 1939) is a former Australian politician. Murphy was born in Bairnsdale to labourer Alan George Murphy and Nancy Loisa Eastwood. He attended local state schools before becoming an apprentice butcher from 1953 to 1958. In 1960 he became a form setter with the State Electricity Commission at Morwell. On 11 February 1961 he married Denielle Hughes, with whom he had two children; that year he also joined the Morwell branch of the Labor Party. He served in the Citizen Military Forces from 1961 to 1966 and was branch vice-president of the Federated Engine Drivers' and Firemen's Association from 1964 to 1967. In 1970 he was appointed country organiser of the Victorian Labor Party, leaving in 1973 to become a contractor for Victorian Railways. He sat on Morwell Shire Council from 1968 to 1971 and was chairman of the McMillan federal electorate assembly in 1979. John Barry-Murphy
John Barry-Murphy (7 January 1892 – 6 January 1975) was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling at various times with his local clubs Cloughduv and Éire Óg and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team in the 1910s and 1920s. Playing career Club Barry-Murphy began his hurling career as a member of his local Cloughduv team. Cloughduv and the Bride Valley Club merged in 1928 to form the Éire Óg club. That year Barry-Murphy won his sole senior county championship winners' medal. Inter-county Barry-Murphy first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Cork junior hurling team in 1916. Dinny Barry-Murphy
Dinny Barry-Murphy (17 July 1903 – 21 August 1973) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Cloughduv, County Cork, Barry-Murphy first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St Finbarr's College, Farranferris. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Cork junior team before later joining the senior side. He made his senior debut during the 1926 championship. Barry-Murphy immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won four All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and two National Hurling League medals.
