Barry Knight (cricketer)
Barry Rolfe Knight (born 18 February 1938) is a former English cricketer, who played in twenty nine Tests for England from 1961 to 1969. Cricket correspondent Colin Bateman remarked, "a flamboyant cricketer... nightwas an elegant middle-order batsman and a bowler with a sharp turn of speed who never appeared to run out of energy". Life and career Born 18 February 1938, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Knight was a fast bowling all-rounder, doing the cricketer's double (1,000 runs and 100 wickets in a season) four times, including the fastest in modern times, (two and a half months). He won the World Single Wicket Title at Lord's in 1964. Knight made his county cricket debut with Essex in May 1955, leaving them at the end of the 1966 season for financial reasons to join Leicestershire. Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Chesterfield is a market town, market and industrial town in the county of Derbyshire, England. It is north of Derby and south of Sheffield at the confluence of the River Rother, South Yorkshire, Rivers Rother and River Hipper, Hipper. In 2011, the built-up-area subdivision had a population of 88,483, making it the second-largest settlement in Derbyshire, after Derby. Andrew Hilditch
Andrew Mark Jefferson Hilditch (born 20 May 1956) is a former Australia national cricket team, Australian international cricketer who played in 18 Test cricket, Test matches and eight One Day Internationals from 1979 to 1985. He played for New South Wales cricket team, New South Wales from 1977 to 1981 and for Southern Redbacks, South Australia from 1982 to 1992. He was an Australian cricket selector from 1996 until 2011. Early career Hilditch was born in North Adelaide, South Australia, but made his First-class cricket, First-class debut for New South Wales cricket team, New South Wales against Tasmanian Tigers, Tasmania in TCA Ground, Hobart in February 1977, scoring 5 and 42. John Dyson (cricketer, Born 1954)
John Dyson (born 11 June 1954) is a former international cricketer (batsman) who is now a cricket coach, most recently in charge of the West Indies. He played 30 Test matches and 29 One Day Internationals for Australia between 1977 and 1984. He did not enjoy as much success at the international level as he did at the first class level. In first-class matches, he scored nearly 10,000 runs at an average of 40. Dyson is probably best remembered for his "catch of the century" at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 1982, when he caught Sylvester Clarke in the outfield, over his head, at a 45-degree angle to the ground, running backwards. Dyson participated in two "rebel tours" of South Africa in 1985–86 and 1986–87 in defiance of the international sporting boycott of the apartheid state, scoring over 1,000 runs. Adam Craig Gilchrist (; born 14 November 1971) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer and List of Australia national cricket captains, captain of the Australia national cricket team. Shane Lee (cricketer)
Shane Lee (born 8 August 1973) is a former Australian first-class cricketer. He was an all-rounder known for his hard batting and medium-pace bowling and is the elder brother of Australian pace bowler Brett Lee. He played for Australia and also captained the NSW team. Lee was a part of the Australian team that won the 1999 Cricket World Cup. Career Lee was a promising junior, representing the Australia under-19 team. Brett Lee
Brett Lee (born 8 November 1976) is an Australian former international cricketer, who played all three formats of the game. During his international career, Lee was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. With his time representing Australia, Lee won multiple ICC titles with the team: the 2003 Cricket World Cup, the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy, and the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Mark Waugh
Mark Edward Waugh (born 2 June 1965) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer, who represented Australia in Test matches from early 1991 to late 2002, after previously making his One Day International (ODI) debut in 1988. Allan Robert Border (born 27 July 1955) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer. Andrew Flintoff
Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff (born 6 December 1977), is an English television and radio presenter and former international cricketer. Flintoff played all forms of the game and was one of the sport's leading all-rounders, a fast bowler, middle-order batsman and slip fielder.
