The Normans (Norman language, Norman: ''Normaunds''; ; ) were a population arising in the medieval Duchy of Normandy from the intermingling between Norsemen, Norse Viking settlers and locals of West Francia. Colleen Barrett ( Crotty; September 14, 1944 – May 8, 2024) was an American business executive who served as president, and later president emerita, of Southwest Airlines. She was an influential figure in the founding and development of the company. In 2001, she became the first woman to serve as president of a major airline. Personal life Colleen Crotty was born on September 14, 1944, to a lower-income family in Bellows Falls, Vermont. She attended the Worcester campus of Becker Junior College on a government loan, where she graduated in 1964 with a two-year degree to become a legal secretary. Colin Barrett
Colin Barrett (born 3 August 1952) is an English former association football defender. He played 163 competitive senior games from 1972 to 1980 with Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Swindon Town. At Forest he was part of a team that won seven honours including the 1977–78 Football League First Division, the 1978–79 European Cup and the Football League Cup in both those seasons. The month after his 26th birthday and 10 days after scoring against Liverpool in the European Cup he damaged knee ligaments. He never fully recovered only playing 12 further competitive games in senior football. The last of those was in the same month as having turned 28. Charley Barrett
Charley "Chuck" Barrett (November 3, 1893 – May 21, 1924) was an American football player. He was the consensus All-American quarterback in 1914 and 1915 while playing for Cornell University and led Cornell to an undefeated season and national championship in 1915. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1958. Early years Barrett was born in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended the University School in Cleveland before enrolling at Cornell University. Cornell At Cornell, Barrett was quarterback for the football team and a pitcher for the baseball team. Charles Leslie Barrett (26 June 1879 – 16 January 1959) was an Australian naturalist, journalist, author and ornithologist. Born in Hawthorn, Victoria, he was a foundation member of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union (RAOU) in 1901 and editor of its journal the ''Emu'', 1910–1916. He also wrote for ''Walkabout''. In 1953 he was awarded the Australian Natural History Medallion. Charles Barrett also served in the AIF during the Great War. Career College Born in San Diego, Barrett played two seasons of college soccer at UCLA and led the team in assists his second year.
