The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan () is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King of Canada. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through block voting. Dakota-Arm River
Dakota-Arm River is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. This constituency is located in south central Saskatchewan. The district was created as Arm River for the 1908 Saskatchewan general election, and it was last contested in the 2020 election. Grain farming and cattle ranching are the major economic activities of the area. The two largest towns in the constituency are Davidson and Outlook. Much of the Highway 11 corridor connecting Regina and Saskatoon lies within the constituency. History Arm River was originally created before the 2nd Saskatchewan general election in 1908 and has existed ever since. It was named for the Arm River which flows roughly through the middle of the district. The riding's boundaries have changed many times over the years due to redistribution. Dana Skoropad is a Canadian politician who was elected to the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly in the 2020 general election. He represented Arm River as a member of the Saskatchewan Party for one term and did not stand for re-election. On May 31, 2022, Skoropad was appointed to cabinet as Minister of Environment. In August 2023, Skoropad announced that he would not be running in the next election, and he was shuffled out of cabinet on August 29. Skoropad grew up on a family farm south of Chamberlain. The 2024 Saskatchewan general election was held on October 28, 2024, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The incumbent Saskatchewan Party government, led by Premier Scott Moe since 2018, sought re-election to a fifth consecutive term. The Saskatchewan Party's primary opponent, the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) led by Carla Beck, sought to lead the NDP to its first government since 2007. This was the first general election to feature the Saskatchewan United Party (SUP). The Saskatchewan Party won enough seats to form its fifth consecutive majority government, claiming the majority of rural ridings.
