Barocco Sempre Giovane
Barocco sempre giovane is a professional Czech chamber orchestra. Barocco sempre giovane (Baroque forever young) was founded in 2004 by a violoncellist Josef Krečmer. It is a chamber ensemble consisting of young musicians, standing organist and harpsichordist is Pavel Svoboda, concert master is Iva Kramperová. It makes CD recordings, performs on Czech television and cooperates regularly with Czech Radio. The young performers focus primarily on the music of the European baroque and classical masters, as well as the contemporary music (Luboš Sluka, Slavomír Hořínka, Vít Zouhar). Concert performances The concert activities of the orchestra include performances at music festivals in the Czech Republic (in 2010 it will be Prague Spring International Music Festival, and Brno International Music Festival) and abroad (Belgium, Slovakia, Spain). ''Barocco'' is a 1976 French romantic thriller film, directed by André Téchiné. The film stars Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu and Marie-France Pisier. Identity, redemption and resurrection are the themes of the film. The plot follows a young woman who convinces her boxer boyfriend to accept a bribe to tell a lie that discredits a local politician. Jaroslav Tůma
Jaroslav Tůma (born 1956, in Prague, Czech Republic) is a Czech organist. This organist, clavichord, harpsichordist and pianoforte player graduated from the Prague Conservatory and from the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Milan Šlechta organ, and Zuzana Růžičková harpsichord). He won first prizes in organ improvisation competitions in Nuremberg in 1980 and in the Dutch city of Haarlem in 1986. He is also the laureate of a number of organ interpretation competitions, 1978 Linz, 1979 the Prague Spring competition and 1980 the Leipzig Bach competition. Through 1990 - 1993, he performed the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He records for Czech radio, Czech television, and numerous recording companies. His discography includes more than twenty solo recordings. Jiří Stivín
Jiří Stivín (born 23 November 1942 in Prague) is a Czech flute player and composer. Biography He graduated from the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). He also studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music as well as at the Prague Academy of Music (AMU), and studied the flute under Milan Munclinger. Stivín performs music from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Baroque periods. As a sololist, he performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, with the Slovak Chamber Orchestra, with Suk Chamber Orchestra, Barocco sempre giovane as well as with several other ensembles. He is also involved in jazz, both as a performer and as a composer. Ludmila Vernerová
Ludmila Vernerová (born 6 December 1962, Prague) is a Czech operatic soprano and the niece of the oboist . After graduating from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, she was a regular performer at the Prague Chamber Opera in the mid 1980s. In 1987 she joined the Prague National Theatre where she performed for 12 years. Since 1999 she has been a member of the Prague State Opera. Ivan Ženatý (born 2 February 1962) is a Czech violinist. Ženatý appears regularly as a guest artist with BBC Symphony Orchestra of London, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Berliner Symphoniker, Orchestra Nacional de Madrid as well as with orchestras in his homeland, in prior with the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. Michaela Fukačová (born 27 March 1959) is a Czech cellist. She took up the cello aged 14, and won the Beethoven Cello Competition two years later. Václav Hudeček
Václav Hudeček (born June 7, 1952 in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech violinist. A former student of David Oistrakh, Hudeček's records have sold many copies in the Czech Republic, especially a 1992 recording of Vivaldi's '' The Four Seasons'', certified platinum. Hudeček also runs an annual academy for promising young Czech violinists. Biography Hudeček studied at the Prague Conservatory.
