Barnabas Kipyego
Barnabas Kipyego (born 12 June 1995) is a Kenyan 3000 metre steeplechase runner. He was the 2014 World U20 Champion in that event. Biography Kipyego's first major international competition was the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where he won the world junior steeplechase title in a time of 8:25.57. His countryman Titus Kibiego led early in the race, but with one lap to go Kipyego took the lead and he had the best final two barriers to win with a final-lap time of 61.21 seconds. The next month, Kipyego made his Diamond League debut at the Birmingham Diamond League, finishing 3rd in a world U20 leading time of 8:17.03. Kipyego was a regular participant in Diamond League steeplechase races over the next several years. Long Jump
The long jump is a track and field event in which athletes combine speed, strength and agility in an attempt to leap as far as possible from a takeoff point. The British Grand Prix, formerly known as the Birmingham Grand Prix, is an annual athletics meeting. Since 2010 it has been a part of the Diamond League series of track and field meets. In 2020 the event was due to be held at the Gateshead International Stadium but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The event returned to Gateshead in 2021. The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions comprising fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The 3000 metres steeplechase or 3000-meter steeplechase (usually abbreviated as ) is the most common distance for the steeplechase in track and field.
