The Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network ( ca, Xarxa de Museus Locals), also known as ''Catalonia’s Biggest Museum'', is a tool for support and collaboration from and for the museums of the province, which makes available to municipalities a series of services and actions aimed at improving, through the provision of direct services and research into viable formulas for supramunicipal cooperation, the management, conservation and dissemination of heritage and the museum facilities of the towns of Barcelona province. It is managed from the Cultural Heritage Office, which in turn depends on the Department of Knowledge and New Technologies of Barcelona Provincial Council. It was started in 2001, the continuation of a collaboration effort established by the Local Museum Cooperation Committee, which was founded in 1988 in connection with the preparation for the 1st Conference on Museums and Local Administration. The Cardadeu Tomàs Balvey Museum-Archive ( ca, Museu-Arxiu Tomàs Balvey), in Cardedeu, Vallès Oriental, is organised around the legacy of Tomàs Balvey i Bas (1865–1954), the last of a line of apothecaries in Cardedeu. The theme of the museum is based on the pharmacy and its pharmacist, focusing on the world of illness, remedies and health. The Capellades Paper Mill Museum ( ca, Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades) is a museum about paper located in the town of Capellades. The museum is located in an old paper mill called the Molí de la Vila. It is one of the most important museums in the world on the subject of papermaking. Capellades
Capellades () is a town in Catalonia, Spain, located in the south of the comarca of Anoia, some sixty metres above the Anoia river where it cuts through the Catalan Coastal Range. The C-15 trunk road from Vilafranca del Penedès and the FGC railway line R6 from Martorell and Barcelona run along the river valley below the town on their way to Igualada. It is about one hour from Barcelona by car, bus or train. Capellades is known for the manufacture of paper since the seventeenth century.
