Uri Barbash
Uri Barbash ( Hebrew: אורי ברבש; born 24 December 1946) is an Israeli film director and television director, member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. and the Israeli Academy of Film and Television. His film '' Beyond the Walls'' (1984) was nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Biography Barbash, a descendant of the Schneerson family, is the eldest son of Ruth (née Haber) and Menachem Barbash. He was born in Tel Aviv, but at the age of two the family moved to Be'er Sheva, where he grew up. His father, Menachem, was a member of the Shai unit and later a member of the public service. His mother was a teacher, school principal, and teacher trainer. In his youth, he lived in Argentina for two years, following his father's missions. Tom Barbash is an American writer of fiction and nonfiction, as well as an educator and critic. Speaker, panelist, and interviewer Barbash has served as host for onstage events for The Commonwealth Club, Litquake, BookPassage, and the Lannan Foundation. Teaching He taught at Stanford University, where he was a Stegner Fellow, and now teaches novel writing, short fiction, and nonfiction in the MFA Program in Writing at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Barbash has held fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, The James Michener Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Samantha Barbash
Samantha Barbash is an American entrepreneur and former adult entertainment host whose real life story with Roselyn Keo formed the basis for the movie ''Hustlers (2019 film), Hustlers'', starring Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu. The film was adapted from Jessica Pressler's 2015 article in New York (magazine), New York magazine, "The Hustlers at Scores". Barbash has written her own memoirs, entitled ''Underscore''. Known professionally as Samantha Foxx, she became an adult entertainment host at 19 and later a hostess at Scores Gentlemen's Club in the Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan and in the same borough's Hustlers Club. Many of their biggest spending clients were highly paid Wall Street brokers. Barbash was on probation for five years after pleading guilty of conspiracy, assault and grand larceny. Eddie Barbash
Eddie Barbash is an American saxophonist known for his work as a core member of Jon Batiste and Stay Human, and was part of the house band for Late Show with Stephen Colbert through 2016. Early life Barbash was born in West Islip, New York, but spent his first years living in Oaxaca, Mexico. His family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he was two years old. At eight years old he began playing saxophone in his elementary school band. Barbash studied at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in high school. During college, he attended Juilliard and The New School. In 2008 he began playing with Chico Hamilton and Jon Batiste. Musical career In 2009, he formed The Amigos, an Americana band based in New York City. He left The Amigos in 2013 to tour with Stay Human.
