Barbara Romanò (born 14 January 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Italy. Biography Romanò, who comes from Tuscany, began competing on tour in 1983 and reached a best singles ranking of 74 in the world. 1988 French Open – Women's Singles
Defending champion Steffi Graf defeated Natasha Zvereva in the final, 6–0, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1988 French Open. It was her second French Open title and third major title overall. Graf did not lose a set during the tournament, dropping only 20 games. The final was the shortest major final of the Open Era; the official duration of the match was 34 minutes, with only 32 minutes of play due to a rain break. It remains the only " double bagel" major final of the Open Era. The win marked Graf's second step towards completing the first, and so far only Golden Slam in the history of pedestrian tennis. Graf recorded a total of six "bagel" (6–0) sets across her seven matches. The final was the first major final since the 1981 French Open not to feature either Martina Navratilova or Chris Evert. Federica Bonsignori (born 20 November 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Italy. Biography Bonsignori started competing professionally in 1984. She won her first Grand Slam match at the 1986 French Open when she had a double bagel win over Amanda Tobin. This was one of four occasions in her career that she reached the second round at Roland Garros, which was her best Grand Slam event. In 1987, she upset top seed Manuela Maleeva en route to the quarter-finals of the Belgian Open and reached the semi-finals of the Clarins Open in Paris. Karin Kschwendt (born 14 September 1968) is a former professional tennis player who represented Luxembourg, Germany and Austria at various points in her career.
