Özgür Baran Aksaka (Bulgarian language, Bulgarian: Йозгюр Баран Аксака; born 29 January 2003) is a Turkish-Bulgarian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Midfielder (association football)#Central midfielder, midfielder for Galatasaray S.K. (football), Galatasaray. Club career Aksaka was born Tekirdağ, Turkey, to a Turkish father and a mother of mixed Bulgarian and Turkish descent. Starting playing aged eight, he joined Galatasaray S.K. (football), Galatasaray academy in 2013. He made his debut for the first team on 19 October 2022 in a Turkish Cup match against Kastamonuspor. On 17 January 2023, Galatasaray extended his contract until the summer of 2026. He completed his professional debut on 4 January 2023 in a league match against MKE Ankaragücü, Ankaragücü. Tekirdağ
Tekirdağ () is a city in northwestern Turkey. It is located on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara, in the region of East Thrace. The city forms the urban part of the Süleymanpaşa district, with a population of 186,421 in 2022. Tekirdağ is a commercial centre with a harbour for agricultural products (the harbour is being expanded to accommodate a new rail link to the main freight line through Thrace). It is also home to Martas and the BOTAŞ Terminal, both of them important for trade activities in the Marmara Region. The town's best known product remains Tekirdağ rakı although it is also known for its cherries, celebrated with a festival every June. The 2023–24 Süper Lig, officially called the Trendyol Süper Lig 2023–24 season, was the 66th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. The fixtures were announced on 18 July 2023 at 21:30 (UTC+3). The defending champions Galatasaray successfully retained their title. On 12 December 2023 it was announced that the league was suspended indefinitely following Ankaragücü president Faruk Koca's punching of referee Halil Umut Meler after their home match against Rizespor.
