Pocharam Srinivas Reddy
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy Parige is an Indian politician who is the current and 2nd Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from 17 January 2019 and Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from Banswada constituency. He was the Minister of Agriculture (2014-2019) in the government of Telangana. Career Reddy joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1984 from the Indian National Congress (INC). He worked as a minister twice in TDP government. He was with TDP for 27 years before quitting. In 1994, he contested the Banswada constituency as a TDP candidate and won with a majority of over 57,000 votes. He lost in 2004 against Bajireddy Govardhan, the INC candidate. In support of the Telangana Movement, he joined TRS party in March 2011. He also resigned from his MLA seat and TDP membership. 2014 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2014 took place on 30 April and 7 May 2014 to elect members to the legislatures of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held concurrently with the Indian general election. The results were declared on 16 May 2014. The Telugu Desam Party led by N. Chandrababu Naidu won a majority of the 175 seats in the rump Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K. Chandrashekar Rao won in the new state of Telangana. 2018 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The Telangana Legislative Assembly election was held in Telangana on 7 December 2018 to constitute the second Legislative Assembly since the formation of the state in 2014. The incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Indian National Congress, BJP, Telangana Jana Samithi, and Telugu Desam Party were the main contestants in the election. Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( ; BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi ( TRS), is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in the state of Telangana.
