Banksville is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (20th ward). The neighborhood of Banksville is located in the West End of the city and borders the South Hills region. Real estate agencies frequently refer to the Banksville area as Greentree City due to Banksville's shared border with the borough of Green Tree. Little Saw Mill Run Railroad
The Little Saw Mill Run Railroad was a American coal railroad that was located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. History This railroad company was incorporated July 23, 1850, and opened in April 1853. Originally, it was owned by the Harmony Society, and ran from Temperanceville, Pennsylvania on the Ohio River to Banksville, Pennsylvania, running parallel to Saw Mill Run and Little Saw Mill Run. In an agreement with the narrow gauge Pittsburgh Southern Railroad, it ran dual gauge tracks. It became part of the railroad empire of George J. Gould George Jay Gould I (February 6, 1864 – May 16, 1923) was a financier and the son of Jay Gould. Beechview (Pittsburgh)
Beechview is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's southwestern side. It has a zip code of 15216, and has representation on Pittsburgh City Council by both the council member for District 4 (South Neighborhoods) and for District 2 (West Neighborhoods). Beechview was founded in 1905 after the introduction of a comprehensive light rail transit system. It was named for the large amount of American Beech Trees in the area. Pittsburgh has nearly 800 sets of city-owned steps. Many steps parallel existing roads, but others exist on their own and are classified as city streets and are commonly referred to as "paper streets". Nearly two-thirds of the steps are in low or moderate-income areas. Approximately 450 sets of steps are built on structures and 350 are built into sidewalks, known as "jumperwalks". West End Village (originally named Temperanceville) is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's west city area. The Harmony Society was a Christian theosophy and pietist society founded in Iptingen, Germany, in 1785. Green Tree is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,941 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
