Banesco Banco Universal C.A. is a Venezuelan financial institution whose principal branch is located in Caracas. The bank is part of the Asociación Bancaria de Venezuela (Venezuela's Banking Association). Banesco has 340 branches all over Venezuela, more than 115.000 POS and 1.377 ATMs. With more than six million clients, Banesco currently is the largest private banking business in Venezuela and the second among all, with a market quota of ull 21.32%on total assets and ull 18.3%on credit portfolio. Banco Etcheverría
Banco Etcheverría was a Spanish bank. The family-owned bank was the oldest in the Spanish financial system, and the 11th oldest surviving bank in the world, older by over half a century than the Bank of Spain itself. It was founded in Betanzos, A Coruña (Spain) in 1717 by Juan Etcheverry (née Jean d’Etcheverry), a French businessman and tannery owner who had settled in Galicia. His family inherited and continued the bank business through generations; the primitive Etcheverry transformed the surname to Etcheverría to adapt to Spanish spelling (although the standard Spanish spelling is now Echeverría). The name comes from the Basque surname Etxeberria, meaning "new house". In 1964 it became a ''sociedad anónima''. Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez (born 1959) is a Spanish-Venezuelan billionaire banker and the founder of Banesco, the largest private financial institution in Venezuela. He is also CEO and shareholder (80 %) of Spanish bank Abanca, as well as president of Spanish football club Deportivo de La Coruña. As of March 2022, his reported net worth is estimated at US$3.5 billion. Early life and education Escotet was born in Madrid in 1959 as one of eight immigrant children from Spain. Mercantil Banco is a financial institution with more than 100 years of banking activity in Venezuela and is a subsidiary of Mercantil Servicios Financieros. History On 23 March 1925 a group of 98 Venezuelan businessmen founded the bank with the name of "Banco Neerlando Venezolano" in an economy determined by the agricultural activity being the major component of national income (coffee, cacao and cotton). The Bank began its operations on 3 April 1925. In 1968, it became the official representative of Diners Club in Venezuela. The Caracas Stock Exchange or Bolsa de Valores de Caracas (BVC) is a stock exchange located in Caracas, Venezuela. Established in 1947, BVC merged with a competitor in 1974. The Caracas Stock Exchange hit a new all time high on January 9th, 2025.
