''Banduk'' is a 1985 Australian television film shot in Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory of Australia.Ed. The boy and girl (siblings) in the story (Banduk and Yalumul) realise that the ice-cream van owners are smuggling native animals out of Australia, including one of the Yolngu sacred animals, the red-collared lorikeet, or ''lindrij''. With the help of Banduk's grandfather, they manage to trap the smugglers and are given a reward. The sub-plot involves the children raising money to buy musical instruments for their band. Banduk Marika
Banduk Mamburra Wananamba Marika (13 October 1954 – 12 July 2021), known after her death as Dr B Marika, was an artist, printmaker and environmental activist from Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia, who was dedicated to the development, recognition and preservation of Indigenous Australian art and culture. She used her artwork to translate her ancestral stories through figures and motifs. She was one of the few Indigenous artists to specialise almost entirely in print making. She was the first Aboriginal person to serve on the National Gallery of Australia's board. Roy Marika
Roy Dadaynga Marika (1925 – 1993) was an Aboriginal Australian artist and Indigenous rights activist. He was a member of the Marika family, brother of Mawalan 1 Marika, Mathaman Marika, Milirrpum Marika and Dhunggala Marika. He was the leader of the Rirratjingu clan of the Yolngu people from 1970 onwards, and the president of the Yirrkala Village Council on the Gove Peninsula in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. The Marikas were involved in ''Milirrpum v Nabalco Pty Ltd'' (named after Roy's older brother Milirrpum, also known as the Gove land rights case). East Arnhem Land
Arnhem Land is a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is located in the north-eastern corner of the territory and is around from the territorial capital, Darwin. Yolngu
The Yolngu or Yolŋu ( or ) are an aggregation of Aboriginal Australian people inhabiting north-eastern Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. ''Yolngu'' means "person" in the Yolŋu languages. The terms Murngin, Wulamba, Yalnumata, Murrgin and Yulangor were formerly used by some anthropologists for the Yolngu. All Yolngu clans are affiliated with either the Dhuwa (also spelt Dua) or the Yirritja moiety. Prominent Dhuwa clans include the Rirratjiŋu and Gälpu clans of the Dangu people, while the Gumatj clan is the most prominent in the Yirritja moiety. Garry George McDonald AO (born 30 October 1948) is an Australian actor, satirist and comedian. In a career spanning five decades he has had many theatre, television and film roles, and has been listed as a National Living Treasure. He is best known as the seemingly naive celebrity interviewer Norman Gunston, through whom he pioneered the "ambush interviewer" technique since followed by many others. He received a Gold Logie award for the television ''Norman Gunston Show'' in which he developed the character.
