Bandos (horse)
Bandos (1964 – September 1987) was a gray Arabian stallion with Crabbet ancestry. He was sired by Negatiw, a Tersk bred stud, out of Bandola, who was known by the title of "Queen of Poland". Bandos was a sire in Poland for 11 years, and in 1982, he was imported to the United States. Life and career Bandos was foaled at Poland's Janow Podlaski Stud in 1964. He was sired by Negatiw, who was by the Skowronek son, Naseem, and out of the Polish-bred mare, Bandola. His dam was a full sister to Bask, a sire of significance. Bandos himself, at a young age, was nicknamed the "King of Janow". Bandos was considered to be one of the most influential Saglawi-type stallions. Those who knew him described him as, "Very pleasant and quiet in the stall, however, when brought out, full of fire and very animated." Arabian Horse
The Arabian or Arab horse ( ar, الحصان العربي , DMG ''ḥiṣān ʿarabī'') is a breed of horse that originated on the Arabian Peninsula. Skowronek (horse)
Skowronek (a name meaning '' lark'' or '' skylark'' in Polish) was an Arabian stallion foaled in 1908 or 1909. He was bred by Count Józef Potocki who owned the Antoniny Stud in Poland. He was imported to England as a young horse. Upon purchase by Lady Wentworth, Skowronek became a foundation stallion at Lady Wentworth's Crabbet Arabian Stud. He was most often crossed on mares who were daughters or granddaughters of the stallion Mesaoud, another foundation stallion for Crabbet, who had been bred by Ali Pasha Sherif and imported from Egypt to England by Lady Wentworth's parents, Wilfrid and Lady Anne Blunt. Kurozwęki
Kurozwęki is a village in the district of Gmina Staszów, within Staszów County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in south-central Poland. It lies on the Czarna Staszowska river, in the historic province of Lesser Poland, approximately north-west of Staszów and south-east of the regional capital Kielce. A stud animal is a registered animal retained for breeding. The terms for the male of a given animal species (stallion, bull, rooster, etc.) usually imply that the animal is intact—that is, not castrated—and therefore capable of siring offspring.
