Shane Jerome Bourne (born 24 November 1949) is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor, musician, and television host. Early life and education Shane Jerome Bourne was born on 24 November 1949 in Melbourne, Victoria. He was raised by his mother Moreen "Pixie" ( Freeman, 1915–2000), a former model, with his younger brother Dannie. Kerry Michelle Armstrong (born 12 September 1958) is an Australian actress and author. She is one of only two actresses to win two Australian Film Institute Awards in the same year, winning Best Actress in a Leading Role for ''Lantana'' and Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Television Drama for '' SeaChange'' in 2001. ''Blankety Blanks'' is an Australian game show based on the American game show ''Match Game''. It was hosted by Graham Kennedy on the 0-10 Network from 1977–1978. ''Blankety Blanks'' had a two-season run from 1977 to 1978. It was screened at a rate of five, thirty-minute episodes each week, stripped across an early evening timeslot. In Sydney and Melbourne, it was broadcast in the 7pm timeslot across both seasons. It was a ratings success, beating the flagship current affairs programs '' Willesee At Seven'' on the Seven Network and '' A Current Affair'' on the Nine Network, and on occasions achieving ratings in the low 40s. ''Bingles'' is an Australian sitcom which screened on Network 10 from 5 December 1992 until 13 June 1993. It is set in a suburban smash repair workshop called Bingles owned by Ron Bignell (Cliff Ellen). Production The sitcom was conceived by Ian McFadyen in 1989 and intended to be a vehicle for the male cast members of The Comedy Company. Network 10 brought the show and it went into production in August 1991. Filming on 23 episodes was completed in August 1992. McFadyen said most of the episodes centre on Ron Bignell's attempts to get his staff to work. Bingles is a play on the word bingle, which is Australian slang for a minor crash or upset. Network Ten commissioned a second series of 13 episodes before the first series had gone to air, however the series was not very successful. ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'' is a long-running variety television program on Australian television. It initially ran for 28 years on the Nine Network from 9 October 1971 to 20 November 1999, with a recess in 1978. Its host throughout its entire run was Daryl Somers, who later also became executive producer of the program. The original producer, Gavan Disney, left the program in December 1990 and Somers then formed a production company, Somers Carroll Productions, with comedy writer and on-screen partner Ernie Carroll, the performer of Somers' pink ostrich puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich. Carroll retired in 1994, and Ossie was no longer featured in the show. Ian McFarlane (born 1959) is an Australian music journalist, music historian and author, whose best known publication is the ''Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop'' (1999), which was updated for a second edition in 2017. As a journalist he started in 1984 with '' Juke'', a rock music newspaper. During the early 1990s he worked for Roadrunner Records while he published a music guide, ''The Australian New Music Record Guide Volume 1: 1976–1980'' (1992). He followed with two fanzines, ''Freedom Train'' and ''Prehistoric Sounds'', both issued during 1994 to 1996.
