Bandar-e Khomeini
Bandar-e Emam Khomeyni () is a city in, and the capital of, Bandar-e Emam Khomeyni District of Bandar Mahshahr County, Khuzestan province, Iran. It also serves as the administrative center for Bandar-e Emam Khomeyni Rural District. Bandar-e Imam Khomeyni is a port city on the Persian Gulf. Before the 1979 Iranian Revolution, it was known as Bandar Shahpur. It is named after Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. The city is home to Petrochimi Bandar Imam basketball club, which plays in the Iranian Super League. History The port is located at the terminus of the Trans-Iranian Railway linking the Persian Gulf with Tehran and on to the Caspian Sea. Musa Bay
Musa Bay is a bay in the northwest end of the Persian Gulf. It is located in the Bandar-e Emam Khomeyni District, Mahshahr County, Khuzestan province, Khuzestan. Musa is said to have been a famous captain after whom this bay was named. Geography Musa Bay is 20-50m deep, reaching 73m in some places. The lands around this bay are muddy with a height of 2-4m above sea level. The width of its opening is 37-40 km and its length from the opening to Bandar-e Emam Khomeyni is 90 km and to Bandar-e Mahshahr is 120 km. Other small creeks branch off from Musa bay, mostly off the western side, and from south to north, they are Selech creek, Melh creek, Qanaqa creek, Marymos creek, and Duraq creek in the northwest. Petrochimi Bandar Imam Basketball Club (, ''Tim-e Beskâtbal-e Petrushimi-ye Bendâr Eman''), also known as shortly Petrochimi, is an Iranian professional basketball club based in Mahshahr, Iran. They compete in the Iranian Basketball Super League. In 2012 they became the first club in Iran to establish a basketball youth academy. History In 2013, under the guidance of Doctor Mehran Hatami, Petro won the Iranian Basketball Super League for the first time in their history after defeating Mahram Tehran in the final. Bandar-e Mahshahr () is a city in the Central District of Bandar Mahshahr County, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. فارسی Most of its people speak a dialect that was a mixture of Southern Luri and Bushehri, which is still spoken by most people, taught by the elderly people to the younger generations (the dialect though still thrives in Hendijan and especially Genaaveh). So now Mahshahrians are still mainly Lur-speaking. Local Persians are mostly of Behbahani, Qanavati, and Bandari families.
