Band Together
Band Together was a musical concert put on for the people of Canterbury, New Zealand, Canterbury, New Zealand as a response to the 2010 Canterbury earthquake which had occurred a month earlier. It was held on 23 October 2010 at Christchurch's Hagley Park (New Zealand), Hagley Park. Organised by Opshop frontman Jason Kerrison and New Zealand music personality Paul Ellis, over 31 different acts performed on two stages erected in the city's Hagley Park, Christchurch, North Hagley Park, many of whom had been raised in the region and wanted to give back to their hometown. With appearances by Christchurch mayor Bob Parker (mayor), Bob Parker, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key. and a number of media personalities including Hilary Barry, Jason Gunn, Simon Barnett, it was broadcast live across New Zealand from midday through to 8pm on TV3 (New Zealand), TV3. Ivy Lies is an all-female New Zealand rock band. They are best known for their hit single "Addicted". Band members are Emla Palmer (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Lisa Blatchford (bass/vocals), and Rosie O'Connell (drums). Dinah Lee
Diane Marie Jacobs (born 19 August 1943), known as Dinah Lee, is a New Zealand singer who performed 1960s pop and adult contemporary music. Her debut single from early 1964, "Don't You Know Yockomo?", achieved No. 1 chart success in New Zealand and in the Australian cities of Brisbane and Melbourne. It was followed in September by her cover version of Jackie Wilson's, "Reet Petite", which also reached No. 1 in New Zealand and peaked at No. 6 in Melbourne. Raymond John Patrick Columbus (4 November 1942 – 29 November 2016) was a New Zealand Benny Award-winning singer and songwriter, television host, music manager and entertainer, with a career spanning six decades. As the lead singer of Ray Columbus & the Invaders, his best-known hit was "She's A Mod". Early years Columbus attended Xavier College in Christchurch, studied tap, but was more interested in the rock 'n' roll of the era and formed his first band, The Dominoes, in 1959. Based in a church hall, in Addington, Christchurch, the band put on Saturday night dances. Nathan King is a musician, singer, and songwriter from Christchurch, New Zealand. History King's musical career began with his band Zed, who released two multi-platinum albums: '' Silencer'' (2000) and '' This Little Empire'' (2003). Zed toured in New Zealand, Australia and Europe, playing shows supporting acts like Robbie Williams, Coldplay, The Calling and Ash. Dane Aaron Rumble (born 9 February 1982) is a New Zealand recording artist. He is a former member of New Zealand hip hop group, Fast Crew. Background Rumble was born in Kirwee, Canterbury, and received his secondary education at St Peter's College, Auckland. Che Kuo Eruera Ness (born 1974), better known by his stage name Che Fu, is a New Zealand hip hop, R&B and reggae artist, songwriter and producer. Dame Malvina Lorraine Major (born 28 January 1943) is a New Zealand opera soprano. Early life Major was born in Hamilton, New Zealand, into a large musical family. As a child she performed at various concerts, singing mainly country and western pop and music from the shows. She received her first classical training in 1955, from Sister Mary Magdalen at Ngāruawāhia, north of Hamilton. Sister Febronie continued with her voice training and Sister Liguori gave her piano tuition. As her potential blossomed, Major began travelling weekly to Ponsonby in Auckland, where she received further tuition from Dame Sister Mary Leo at St Mary's College.
