The People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry (Narkomtiazhprom; ) was a government ministry in the Soviet Union in the 1930s. which operated the electric power system in the Soviet Union was subordinated to the commissariat. Dmitriy Feodorovich Ustinov
Dmitriy Fyodorovich Ustinov (; 30 October 1908 – 20 December 1984) was a Soviet politician and a Marshal of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. He served as a Central_Committee_of_the_Communist_Party_of_the_Soviet_Union#Secretariat, Central Committee secretary in charge of the Soviet military–industrial complex from 1965 to 1976 and as Minister of Defence of Soviet Union, Minister of Defence of the Soviet Union from 1976 until his death in 1984. Ustinov was born in the city of Samara to a Russian working-class family in 1908. Upon reaching adulthood, he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Communist Party in 1927 before pursuing a career in engineering. After graduating from the Baltic State Technical University, Institute of Military Mechanical Engineering in 1934, he became a construction engineer at the Leningrad Artillery Marine Research Institute. Sergei Konstantinovich Krikalev (, also transliterated as Sergei Krikalyov; born 27 August 1958) is a Russian mechanical engineer and former cosmonaut and head of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. As a prominent rocket scientist, he is a veteran of six space flights and ranks fourth to Oleg Kononenko, Gennady Padalka, and Yuri Malenchenko for the Spaceflight records#Most time in space, most time spent in space: a total of 803 days, 9 hours, and 39 minutes. Vladimir Ivanovich Yakunin (; born 30 June 1948) is a Russian businessman and close confidant of Vladimir Putin. He was president of Russian Railways from June 2005 to August 2015.
