Baltic Fleet (band)
Baltic Fleet is the work of Warrington-based musician Paul Fleming. Baltic Fleet released his self-titled debut album in 2008 on UK independent label Blow Up Records. The album was named in Rough Trade's top 50 albums of 2008 at number 29. Fleming produced the album using a laptop and any instruments that came to hand whilst he toured with Liverpool post punk band Echo & The Bunnymen. Fleming has also played keyboards on Echo & The Bunnymen studio albums '' Siberia'' and '' The Fountain''. Baltic Fleet influences include Brian Eno's album '' My Life in the Bush of Ghosts'', David Bowie's album ''Low'', Neu!, The Virgin Suicides and Erik Satie. The band is named after a pub in Liverpool. '' Clash magazine'' have described Baltic Fleet as an audio diarist, due to the transient nature of his production. Blow Up Records
Blow Up Records (or Blow Up) is a British independent record label, that was established in London in May 1994, by Blow Up club founder and DJ Paul Tunkin. There is also an affiliated music publishing company Blow Up Songs. The Klaxons were a Belgian accordion-based band founded by Burt Blanca who had a minor UK hit in 1983 with "Clap Clap Sound", which reached number 45 in the UK charts, number 18 on the New Zealand Singles Chart and number 1 on the South African Springbok Singles Charts. Sound of Guns were an English alternative rock band from Liverpool, England, who were formed in 2008. Discovered by ''BBC Introducing'' the band went on to sign with independent record label Distiller Records through which they released their debut album ''What Came From Fire'' on 28 June 2010 and second album ''Angels and Enemies'' on 5 March 2012. Will Sergeant
William Alfred Sergeant (born 12 April 1958) is an English guitarist, best known for being a member of Echo & the Bunnymen. Born in Walton Hospital, he grew up in the village of Melling and attended nearby Deyes Lane Secondary Modern. He is the group's only constant member. Career As a solo artist, Sergeant focused on minimalism and atmospherics, and usually released entirely instrumental music. Sergeant's first solo work was in 1978, when he self-produced ''Weird As Fish'' and made a total of seven copies. The album was officially released 25 years later. Early in the life of Echo & the Bunnymen, Sergeant recorded ''La Vie Luonge'', a soundtrack piece for a short Bunnymen concert film of the same name. Erik Satie
Eric Alfred Leslie Satie (, ; ; 17 May 18661 July 1925), who signed his name Erik Satie after 1884, was a French composer and pianist. He was the son of a French father and a British mother. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, but was an undistinguished student and obtained no diploma. In the 1880s he worked as a pianist in café-cabaret in Montmartre, Paris, and began composing works, mostly for solo piano, such as his ''Gymnopédies'' and '' Gnossiennes''. He also wrote music for a Rosicrucian sect to which he was briefly attached.
