Balranald Football Club
The Balranald Football Club are an Australian football club competing in the Central Murray Football League. The club is based in the town of Balranald in the Riverina region of New South Wales. The club was founded in 1887 and their home ground is called Greenham Park. An early report of a match between the Balranald Football Club and the Mechanics Institute occurred in 1887. The club, because of its isolation spend a lot of time playing scratch matches amongst themselves. As was the nature of the time the club secretary would write to other clubs in a bid to organise a game of football. Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. Merv Neagle
Mervyn Neagle (7 March 195823 August 2012) was an Australian rules footballer who represented and in the Australian Football League (AFL) during the 1970s and 1980s. Early life Neagle grew up in Dimboola, a country town in western Victoria. There he formed a lifelong friendship with future teammate Tim Watson. They played junior football and basketball, and shared a paper round. Football career Essendon Neagle joined , in 1976, preceding Watson who joined the club the following year as a 15-year-old. Both players made their senior debuts in 1977. Neagle finished second in the 1980 Brownlow Medal and equal fifth in 1981. Neagle was selected to play for Essendon in the 1983 VFL Grand Final. Jeff Fehring
Jeff Fehring (21 April 1955 – 25 July 2008) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (as the AFL was then known) from 1977 to 1981. Fehring was born at Leitchville, on the Murray River, near Echuca. He made his debut as a ruckman with the Geelong Football Club in 1977, playing 19 games and kicking 1 goal until 1979. He moved to St Kilda in 1980, and in 1981 his moment of fame came. While he only went on to play 17 games and kick 3 goals for St Kilda, one of those goals was a huge torpedo punt that was estimated to be 84–86 metres, kicked from beyond the centre circle at Moorabbin in 1981. The goal came minutes after he was reported, and he was so fired up that he kicked the (wind-assisted) goal, one of the biggest in Australian rules football history. Mark Lee (Australian Rules Footballer)
Mark Lee (born 29 March 1959 in Mildura, Victoria), father to Alice Springs Netball great Tahlia Lee, is known affectionately as "The General" and is a former Australian rules football player for the Richmond Football Club. Recruited from Richmond's country zone in Mildura, Lee played a couple of games in 1977 but took off the following year as the team's regular ruckman, allowing David Cloke to become a centre-half-forward and solving a problem the team had had since the loss of Michael Green and Brian Roberts a few years beforehand.
