Persatuan Sepakbola Gianyar or Persegi (registered as Persegi Bali FC) is an Indonesian football (soccer), football club based in Gianyar Regency. History When club named Persegi Gianyar, the club hit by financial difficulties in 2005 and decided to dissolve the club. This led to an opportunity for other clubs from Bali to merge and form a club using Persegi Gianyar's license to compete in the Liga Indonesia. Local clubs such as Perseden Denpasar, Persekaba Badung, and Perst Tabanan merged with Persegi Gianyar to form a new club called ''Persegi Bali FC''. The 2006 Liga Indonesia Premier Division (also known as the Liga Djarum Indonesia for sponsorship reasons) was the 12th season of the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, the top Indonesian professional league for association football clubs. Due to the effects of the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake, PSSI and league organizers announced, in a controversial decision, that no teams would be relegated during the season. Piala Indonesia () is the professional annual cup competition for football clubs in Indonesia. Its origins date back to the start of the semi-professional football era in 1985 as Piala Liga, which ran until 1989 under Galatama competition. The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) organized the full professional cup competition from 2005 until the most recent in 2018–2019. Traditionally, the tournament involves clubs from the whole layers of football competitions, which are Liga 1, Liga 2, and Liga 3.
