''Balgish'' is a Maldivian romantic web series written by Aminath Rinaza and directed by Ahmed Nimal. It stars Mariyam Shifa, Ali Azim, Nimal, Arifa Ali and Amira Ismail in main roles. The pilot episode of the series was released on 7 July 2022. The fives episodes' series narrates the life of an unfortunate child and the misfortunes which surrounds her. Ahmed Nimal
Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first. Afterwards, he started working as a full-time actor and led an organization "Dhivehi Harakaaiy Jamiyya" along with Shareef. Mariyam Shifa
Mariyam Shifa (22 November 1999) is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Shifa attributed her singing and dancing skills to her parents; her father being a prominent boduberu player and her mother being a singer, played a huge role in accomplishing her "dream of becoming an actor". Naming Aishath Rishmy, Nuzuhath Shuaib and Ali Seezan as her inspirations, Shifa grew up in a cinema-friendly environment. Career In 2018, at the age of seventeen, Shifa made her career debut with the suspense thriller film '' Dhevansoora'' (2018) written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Revolving around a murder investigation, she played an imaginary doctor counselling the character played by Shafeeu; a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder. Ali Azim
Ali Azim is a Maldivian film actor. Career 2010–2016: Early releases Azim expressed his interest in acting at a very young age. Before he pursued a career in acting Azim worked as a dancer and stage performer. He was first recognized by the audience for his facial expressions while dancing. While working in the Animation Dance Group, the team made a short children's film ''Lollypop'' with "no serious intention but for entertainment". The film which features Azim in a "forgettable" role did not much help to accelerate his career. Amira Ismail (born 4 October 1985) is a Maldivian actress. Career Ismail first filmed for a film titled ''Loabi Dhasvejje'' which was ultimately delayed and shelved. She then collaborated with Amjad Ibrahim for his romantic horror film ''Dhonkamana'' (2003) which depicts the romantic relationship between a young man (played by Yoosuf Shafeeu) and an old woman (played by Fauziyya Hassan). Mohamed Abdulla (6 December 1974) is a Maldivian film producer, actor and a politician. Career Acting career In his career, Abdulla starred in a limited feature films; ''Bulbulaa'' (1999) and Amjad Ibrahim's comedy drama film '' Majubooru Loabi'' (2000). The latter being a commercial success, marks the only collaboration of Abdulla with legendary comedy actors, Haajara Abdul Kareem and Sithi Fulhu. Dhuvaafaru
Dhuvaafaru (Dhivehi: ދުވާފަރު) is an inhabited island of Maldives located in the eastern edge of Raa Atoll. Resettlement of the island started on 14 December 2008 to inhabit the displaced residents of Kandholhudhoo (Raa Atoll) who were the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Hussain Sobah (11 November 1972) is a Maldivian film actor, music composer and playback singer. Career In 1995, Sobah featured in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' alongside Mariyam Nisha, Aminath Rasheedha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles.
