Balarrasa
''Reckless'' () is a 1951 Spanish drama film directed by José Antonio Nieves Conde. It was entered into the 1951 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Spanish missionary Javier Mendoza (Fernando Fernán Gómez) finds himself trapped in the middle of a massive snow storm in Alaska. Fearing that the end of his days has come, he begins to remember his life: After the death of his mother, his father (Javier Tordesillas) dedicates himself to gambling and Javier himself, known as Balarrasa, also leads a life rampant. Nor do the other siblings, Fernando (Luis Prendes), Lina (Dina Stern) and Maite (María Rosa Salgado) lead exemplary lives. When the Spanish Civil War breaks out, Mendoza incurs in an unheroic behavior that ends the life of a colleague by playing cards for a guard that does not belong to him. Fernando Fernán Gómez
Fernando Fernández Gómez (28 August 1921 – 21 November 2007), better known as Fernando Fernán Gómez, was a Spanish actor, screenwriter, film director, theater director, novelist, and playwright. Prolific and outstanding in all these fields, he was elected member of the Royal Spanish Academy in 1998. He was born in Lima, Peru while his mother, Spanish actress Carola Fernán-Gómez, was making a tour in Latin America. He would later use her surname for his stage name when he moved to Spain in 1924. Fernán Gómez was regarded as one of Spain's most beloved and respected entertainers, winning two Silver Bears for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival for ''The Anchorite'' and '' Stico''. 1951 Cannes Film Festival
The 4th Cannes Film Festival took place from 3 to 20 April 1951 after a one hiatus due to financial reasons. French author André Maurois served as jury president for the main competition. The Grand Prize of the Festival, then the festival highest prize, was jointly awarded to '' Miracle in Milan'' by Vittorio De Sica and '' Miss Julie'' by Alf Sjöberg. Michèle Morgan, Jean Marais and Jean Cocteau were honoured with the ''Victoire du cinéma français'' award. José Bódalo
José Bódalo Zúffoli (March 24, 1916 – July 24, 1985) was a Spanish film actor. Biography Bódalo was born in Córdoba, Argentina, the son of Rome-born actress Eugenia Zúffoli and Spanish actor and singer José Bódalo, Sr. His birth in Argentina coincided with his family's artistic tour, but he soon moved to Madrid, where he began studying medicine. He made over 120 film and TV appearances between 1930 and his death in 1985. From the mid to late 1960s he prolifically appeared in Spaghetti Western films which were often Spanish and Italian co produced. He played the role of General Hugo Rodriguez in the 1966 film '' Django'' opposite Franco Nero; and also performed in Begin the Beguine, the film that won the 1982 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Gerhard Johannes Alexander Tichy Wondzinski (11 March 1920 – 11 April 1992), known as Gérard Tichy, was a German-Spanish actor who appeared in numerous films, including several international productions. Early life Tichy was born Gerhard Johannes Alexander Tichy Wondzinski in Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt, the son of a doctor. After a short period as an artist, he was conscripted into the Reich Labour Service during World War II, but was later transferred into the Wehrmacht as an infantry soldier. He served in the Polish and French campaigns, but was captured by Allied forces in 1945. He was held in a prisoner-of-war camp in Bordeaux for 18 months. Not wanting to be repatriated back to Germany, he made an escape attempt on Christmas Eve, but was quickly re-captured taken to another camp.
