Balak (cartoonist)
Yves Bigerel, also known as "Balak" (born 1 January 1979), is a French comics artist and animator. He is mostly known in France for the comic book series '' Lastman''. In 2009, Balak invented a new digital comics narrative technique which he called " turbomedia"; his work was noticed by Marvel editor Joe Quesada, who recruited him to help establish the Marvel digital imprint " Infinite Comics". He served as creative director and voice of the character Bullfrog on the 2023 adult animated series '' Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix''. Biography Bigerel initially studied philosophy, before completing a three-year course at Gobelins Cinéma Department of Animation in 2006. With Bastien Vivès and Michaël Sanlaville, he created in 2013 the French manga '' Lastman''. Nancy is the Prefectures in France, prefecture of the northeastern Departments of France, French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle. Bastien Vivès (born 11 February 1984) is a French comic book artist. Life and career Born in Paris, Vivès spent his childhood drawing with his younger brother. He took live model classes from the age of 10 years. Vivès studied Applied arts at the Institut Sainte Geneviève Paris (6th) and three years at the Penninghen School of Graphic Arts in Paris and eventually Gobelins School, still in Paris, where he studied animation. He achieved success first on the internet in 2002 on his BK Crew website under the pseudonym "Chanmax" with the character and comic strips of "Poungi la Racaille", which became viral, and was published in libraries in 2006 by Danger Public. November 2015 Paris Attacks
A series of coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks took place on Friday, 13 November 2015 in Paris, France, and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at 21:16, three suicide bombers struck outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during an international football match, after failing to gain entry to the stadium. Another group of attackers then fired on crowded cafés and restaurants in Paris, with one of them also detonating an explosive, killing himself in the process. A third group carried out another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert attended by 1,500 people in the Bataclan theatre, leading to a stand-off with police. The attackers were either shot or detonated suicide vests when police raided the theatre. The attackers killed 137 people, including 90 at the Bataclan theatre. Bataclan (theatre)
The Bataclan () is a theatre located at 50 Boulevard Voltaire in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, France. Designed in 1864 by the architect Charles Duval, its name refers to '' Ba-ta-clan'', an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. Since the early 1970s, it has been a venue for rock music. On 13 November 2015, 90 people were killed in a coordinated terrorist attack in the theatre. History Origin and use The Bataclan originated as a large '' café-concert'' in the Chinoiserie style, with the café and theatre on the ground floor and a large dance hall at first-floor level. Its original name was Grand Café Chinois. The Angoulême International Comics Festival (AICF; ) is the second largest comics festival in Europe after the Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, and the third biggest in the world after Lucca Comics & Games and the Comiket of Japan.
