Thukha
Thukha (, ; 14 January 1910 – 7 December 2005) was a six-time Burmese Academy Award winning film director, writer, song writer, script writer, film actor and film producer. His film production company, Thukha Films Company, won Best Picture Award for twice. Thukha directed 33 films and is considered the most successful Burmese film director. Biography Born Thein Maung in the Irrawaddy delta in British Burma, Thukha began writing poems as a middle school student. He became familiar with classical Burmese music at an early age thanks to his grandfather, a harpist. Thukha studied at Kyaiklat and Pyapon National Schools. Thukha began his writing career at age 19 with a short fiction work "Zabe Pwint" ("Jasmine Petal") in ''Kawi Myetmhan'' magazine under the pen name Sein Thein Dan. Zaw One
Zaw One (; ; born Thaung Dan; 17 July 1945 – 12 August 2009) was a Burmese actor and singer. He was famous as Thingyan Minthar Gyi in Myanmar. Biography Zaw One was born Thaung Dan on 17 July 1945, in Mandalay, son of Mya Mya and "Taingchit" Thakin Thein Pe. He attended Taingchit High School in Mandalay. He received singing lessons from Bo Kin, founder of the ''Moe Kaythi'' Amateur Band, and later sang with the band. He then studied acting with Shumawa U Kyaw, a famous director. Zaw One made many films. His first role was in ''Chwe Ka Lay So So'', directed by Shumawa U Kyaw. The film ''Say Lo Yar Say'' made him famous. He was particularly famous for the film '' Thingyan Moe''. He also made a few albums as a singer. He died on 12 August 2009, from liver disease in Yangon. He was survived by his wife Thant Shwe Zin Win, four children, and nine grandchildren. Maung Ko Ko
Gita Lulin Maung Ko Ko (; 12 November 1928 – 10 October 2007) was a Burmese musician and composer. He is best known for his outstanding musical performances and won the Best Music Academy Awards for 1991, 1994 and 2002. Early life Maung Ko Ko was born on 12 November 1928 to parents U Ba Thin and Daw Phwar Thein in Bogale, Irrawaddy Division, British Burma. He was fourth son of six siblings. His brother Bogalay Tint Aung was also a composer. Career In 1939, Maung Ko Ko began studying music at the Art and Instrument Training School in Rangoon. In 1940, he began broadcasting and recording Colombia record. In 1943, he played music as the band leader in a silent film. In 1946, he became band leader in Play. In 1947, he was a band leader in Burmese sound films. He was the music director for the 1970 film Hmone Shwe Yee and supported the film with several musical blocks. The Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards are presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Burmese Film Industry of Myanmar.
