Al-Bakri
Abū ʿUbayd ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad ibn Ayyūb ibn ʿAmr al-Bakrī (), or simply al-Bakrī (c. 1040–1094) was an Arab Andalusian historian and a geographer of the Muslim West. Life Al-Bakri was born in Huelva, the son of the sovereign of a short-lived principality established there by his family when the Caliphate of Cordoba fell in 1031. Al-Bakri belonged to the Arab tribe of Bakr. When his father was deposed by al-Mu'tadid (1042–1069) of the ruler of Taifa of Seville, he then moved to Córdoba, where he studied with the geographer al-Udri and the historian Ibn Hayyan. He spent his entire life in Al-Andalus, most of it in Seville and Almeria. While in Seville, he was there when El Cid arrived to collect tributes from Alfonso VI. Asma El Bakry
Asma El Bakry (; 28 October 1947 – 5 January 2015) (something written as Asmaa El-Bakri and other variations) was an Egyptian film director, author and illustrator. She was born in Cairo, moving to Alexandria as a young girl with her mother and brother. She attended the renowned French school, Notre Dame de Sion and Lycée, and earned a BA in French literature from the University of Alexandria in 1970. El Bakry worked in the film industry for many years, including as an assistant to noted Egyptian director Youssef Chahine, as well as with Saad Arafa and Khairy Beshara. She also worked as an author, illustrator and as a production manager. As a production manager, El Bakry made about twenty documentaries in Egypt for the BBC. Roger-Dominique Bakry (born 12 December 1954), known as Dominique Bakry, is a French mathematician, a professor at the Université Paul-Sabatier in Toulouse, and a senior member of Institut Universitaire de France. Bakry graduated from , and prepared his PhD under the advisory of Paul-André Meyer and Marc Yor. Before coming to Toulouse, he was chargé de recherches at CNRS in Université Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg. His scientific work is at the interface of Analysis, Probability, and Geometry. Mohammad Bakri
Mohammad Bakri (born 1953; , ) is a Palestinian actor and film director. Personal life Bakri was born in the village of Bi'ina in Israel. He went to elementary school in his hometown and received his secondary education in the nearby city of Akko. He studied acting and Arabic literature at Tel Aviv University in 1973 and graduated three years later. Bakri is married to Leila and together they have six children. His sons Adam, Ziad and Saleh Bakri are also actors. Omar Bakri Muhammad (; born Omar Bakri Fostock; 1958) is a Syrian Islamist militant leader born in Aleppo. He was instrumental in developing Hizb ut-Tahrir in the United Kingdom before leaving the group and heading to another Islamist organisation, Al-Muhajiroun, until its disbandment in 2004. Bakri or often Bukit Bakri ( Jawi: بوكيت بكري; ) is a town in Muar District, Johor, Malaysia. It is located along Federal Route 24 in Muar district, just ten kilometres east of Muar town. In 1991, it had a population of 10,000, which doubled by the 2000 census to 20,123. Now Bukit Bakri population is 30,280. Bukit Bakri is located on the eastern end of Jalan Bakri (part of Federal Highway 24), which is the main road that connects Bakri Town to Bandar Maharani (Muar City Centre). Al-Bakri () is a small lunar impact crater on the northwest edge of Mare Tranquillitatis. It is named after the Spanish Arab geographer and historian Abu Abdullah al-Bakri. It is just south of the eastern arm of the Montes Haemus that borders the Mare Serenitatis to the north. To the east-northeast is the prominent crater Plinius. South of the crater are the rilles of the Rimae Maclear. Al-Bakri was designated Tacquet A prior to being assigned a name by the IAU. The tiny Tacquet lies to the northwest on the Mare Serenitatis.
