Bakkal Railway Station
Bakkal railway station is a railway station in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is part of the Jammu–Baramulla line and was commissioned in January 2025 as part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, with train services expected to begin in February 2025 following formal inauguration. History The station was constructed as part of the USBRL project, sanctioned in 1994-95 and declared a national project in 2002. Located near the Chenab Bridge, Bakkal received CRS approval on 14 January 2025 after inspections on 6-7 January 2025, with a Vande Bharat Express trial run completed on 25 January 2025. Jammu–Baramulla Line
The Jammu–Baramulla line, including the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramula Rail Link (USBRL) subsection, is a 324 km long railway track between the cities of Jammu and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir India. Chenab Rail Bridge
The Chenab Rail Bridge is a railway bridge over the Chenab River in Reasi district of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir. It is a steel and concrete bridge spanning across the river gorge. The structure consists of an approach bridge which is long and a long deck arch bridge. With a deck height of from the river bed, the arch bridge is the List of highest bridges in the world, highest rail bridge and arch bridge in the world.
