Bajloor Rashid
Bajloor Rashid, (; born 28 May 1962) is a Bangladeshi-born British restaurateur, philanthropist and humanitarian. From 2006 to 2012, he was the president for the Bangladesh Caterers Association UK. Early life Bajloor Rashid was born in the village of Balikandi, Chandnighat, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). In 1978, he came to the United Kingdom to further his education. Business career In 1980, Bajloor Rashid opened his first restaurant Curry Garden, in High Street, Dover. Between 1980 and 1993, Bajloor Rashid and his brother set up a number of restaurants in Kent and London. This gained him prominence in the early 1980s as a young entrepreneur in the curry industry, which led him to join the Bangladesh Caterers Association UK, the largest body of curry restaurant owners. Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila
Moulvibazar Sadar (, is an upazila (sub-district) of Moulvibazar District in Sylhet Division, Bangladesh. History Moulvibazar was founded as a ''Thanas of Bangladesh, thana'' in 1882, centred around an expanding bazaar (marketplace) founded by Moulvi Syed Qudratullah back in 1771. In 1912, an anti-British protest was held in the village of Jagatshi, organised by Swami Dayananda. The anti-British Khilafat Movement in 1921 also spread to Moulvibazar and campaigners that were present included Congress leaders Chittaranjan Das, Hussain Ahmad Madani and Sarojini Naidu. In 1932, the Ali Amzad Government Girls' High School was opened as a public school. The ''Kentish Express'' is a weekly newspaper serving southern Kent. It is published in four editions - Ashford, Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh, and Tenterden. The title is owned by the KM Group and published on Thursdays. History The ''Kentish Express'' was founded in 1855 as the ''Ashford and Alfred News'' by Henry Igglesden. The first edition was published on 14 July 1855. The paper was Kent's first penny paper after the abolition of stamp duty on newspapers in 1854. Three years later, the paper was renamed the ''Kentish Express & Ashford News''. Henry's son Charles Igglesden (1861-1949) took over as editor at 23 years of age, after attending the Paris Conservatoire and a period as a reporter.
